Our primitive reflexes began to develop in the womb, and they are critical to healthy development through infancy, the toddler years, and growing up as a child. As infants grow into toddlers, these reflexes should perform “integration”, which means that the responses to primitive reflexes transition into more mature and purposeful voluntary movements within the child. If primitive reflexes are still present years after they should be integrated, a child may display certain characteristics and behaviors specific to the retained reflex, many of which can inhibit their physical development and academic skills.

Our primitive reflex integration therapies teach children how to perform the purposeful voluntary movements related to each primitive reflex. We use objects and exercises to develop more mature and appropriate responses in areas such as fine motor skills, hand and finger dexterity, arm and leg motions, full body behavior, and head and neck control.
